The fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23)
Fruits are to be partaken off, they cannot be earned, they are fruits, like an apple that grows on a tree, it cannot be rushed to ripen, it is ripe in it's own beautiful timing.
The fruits of the holy spirit are the result of you acceptance of the holy spirit, so once baptised be the spirit you have the fruits, but they do not manifest instantly. like a person the holy spirit needs to be exercised.
How? through the groanings and utterings which cannot be understood, the speaking of tougues exercises the power of the spirit.
so the fruits of the holy siprit are fruits manifested in our daily lives, it manifest over time as you let the yourself be guided in the ways of the Lord through the holy spirit.
The 9 Fruits cannot be earned, nor deserved, nor searched for, it is simply the evidence of the presence of the Holy spirit within you.
